Printed Matters

Reprint+Reproduction

1999.9.1 - 9.14

Tokyo Publishing House introduces reprinted and reproduced books and magazines as “Reprinted Matters” in the annual List of Publication, which are now difficult to obtain due to either their high price and scarcity, or because of their bad condition, as time goes by with the originals.

In this exhibition we presented and sold about 100 books and magazines, such as facsimile reprints of books designed by Avant-garde artists, reprints and reproductions of magazines, replications of artists’ sketchbooks, as well as materials related to their works.

In addition, we presented lighting equipment and household goods designed by artists, in particular from the Bauhaus.

The exhibition was an unique opportunity to consider the topic of reproduction.
