Moshe Kupferman

Biography

1926 Born in Jaroslaw, Poland.
1941 Interned in a detention camp in the Ural Mountains, Russia.
1946-47 Refugee in Poland, then Germany.
Begins drawing.
1948 Emigrates to Israel.
1949 Co-founds the Kibbutz Lohamei Haghetaot (Ghetto Fighters), where he has lived and worked ever since.
1955 Begins painting.
1958 First one-person exhibition, at House of the Ghetto Fighters in his kibbutz.
1961 Travels in Europe. Works for six months in Paris.
1975 Visits New York City for four months.
Returns in 1980.
1993 Visits Jaroslaw, Poland, on the occasion of his exhibitions in Lods and Warsaw.
2003 Died.
